Herbs I Take Every Day to Feel Like a Superhuman (No Magic Required!)

Hi, it’s Ash here, your health coach! If you’ve ever felt stuck in a coffee slump or wondered if there’s a natural way to boost your energy and overall wellness, you’re in the right place. Today, I’m breaking down the herbs and supplements I use daily to feel energised, balanced, and ready to take on the world. Let’s dive into how these natural tools can work for you too!

Understand the Basics

What Are Herbs?

Herbs are plant parts like leaves, roots, or flowers packed with health benefits. They’ve been used in traditional medicine for centuries to promote healing and wellness. Herbs such as Chamomile are used for relaxation or turmeric for reducing inflammation. Think of them as nature’s gentle but effective remedies.

What Are Supplements?

Supplements are concentrated nutrients designed to fill gaps in your diet or enhance specific areas of your health. Nutrients like Omega-3 are used to improve heart health and magnesium to relieve stress. These supplements don’t replace a healthy diet but provide powerful support.

Benefits of Adding Herbs & Supplements

Boost Nutritional Intake

Modern farming practices, such as monocropping and overuse of chemical fertilisers, have depleted soil nutrients, leaving many of our fruits and vegetables less nutrient-dense than they used to be. This means even if you’re eating a balanced diet, you might not be getting enough of the vitamins and minerals your body needs.

That’s where herbs and supplements come in:

Herbs Help Fill Nutritional Gaps:

Certain herbs are rich in micronutrients that support overall health. For example:

  • Nettle leaf is a powerhouse of iron, magnesium, and calcium, which support energy, bone health, and muscle function.

  • Dandelion root provides potassium and other trace minerals essential for electrolyte balance and detoxification.

  • Moringa is packed with vitamin C, vitamin A, and iron, making it a great addition to combat deficiencies.

How Multivitamins Play a Role:

Multivitamins are formulated to cover a wide spectrum of nutrients you might not get from food alone.

They ensure you’re meeting your daily requirements for vitamins like B-complex for energy, vitamin D for bone and immune health, and zinc for cellular repair.

By combining nutrient-dense herbs with a high-quality multivitamin, you can address deficiencies and give your body the building blocks it needs to thrive.

Address Common Health Issues & Promote Long-Term Health

Herbs and supplements can target specific challenges as you age.

  • Energy Slumps: Ginseng is great for stamina and focus.

  • Poor Sleep: Valerian root helps you wind down naturally.

  • Digestion Problems: Ginger and peppermint soothe the gut.

  • Heart Health: Omega-3 promotes efficient circulation and reduces inflammation.

  • Skin and Joints: Collagen supports skin elasticity and joint mobility.

  • Aging: Turmeric fights oxidative stress to keep your cells healthy.

Start a Routine That Works for You

Here’s how I organise my herbs and supplements for maximum benefits:

Morning (Energise):

   - Herbs: Ashwagandha, turmeric with black pepper, and maca root.

   - Supplements: Multivitamin, omega-3, and a probiotic.

Midday (Sustain):

   - Herbs: Ginger and dandelion root for digestion.

   - Supplements: Magnesium and CoQ10 for energy and muscle recovery.

Evening (Relax):

   - Herbs: Chamomile and passionflower for stress relief.

   - Supplements: Magnesium glycinate for relaxation and collagen powder for recovery.

Safe Use Tips

Herbs and supplements are powerful tools, but they must be used responsibly.

- Consult a Healthcare Professional: Always check for potential interactions with medications.

- Start Slowly: Introduce one herb or supplement at a time to see how your body responds.

- Prioritise Quality: Look for third-party-tested products to ensure safety and effectiveness.

Conclusion:

Herbs and supplements can be a game-changer for your health. They’re not magic, but with the right choices, they can help you feel your best every day. Start small, be consistent, and pay attention to what works for your body.
